Beginner's Classes
Aikido - The Way of Harmony of the Spirit
Starting approximately 4 times a year, our specialized Two Month Beginner's Classes are intended to teach the skills that are essential for Aikido practice.

Most Aikido dojo encourage you to "start anytime" but to us this is like asking you to start a book in the middle chapters.

Because your initial entry into Aikido is of such critical importance our extensive teaching experience shows the need for focused, orderly, and progressive, step-by-step instruction.

As a long established dojo with a strong reputation for developing students who have gone on to become instructors we are not concerned with gaining students or increasing income. We are more concerned with your safety and the quality of your experience.

After completing this introductory course in a group of fellow beginning students you will have the foundation and techniques necessary to enter the basic or mixed level classes with confidence.

Since our 40+ year schedule of 3 classes per week (Mon., Wed., Fri.) has proven difficult for many to commit to - and many requests for a weekend Beginner's class - our NEW schedule will be:

Saturday Mornings:  10:30am to 12 (Noon)
                                       AND
                   Tuesday evenings: 6 - 7:15pm
(late arrival for commuters is acceptable)

New class hours NOW in effect.

Come and watch ANY 6pm-7:30PM (M-W-F) class to see if Aikido is for you - If so, please register.  After completing the 2 month beginner's course you may choose to attend any or all of our classes that are offered 6 days as week.

Next Beginner's Class: Saturday, Sept 8th
Our belief in the importance of your first classes is indicated by the fact that they are taught EXCLUSIVELY by our Chief Instructor and Ass't. Chief Instructor, both of whom have been certified by the United States Aikido Federation to test and promote.
