Yoga is an ancient system of breathing practices, physical exercises and postures, and meditation intended to integrate the practitioner's body, mind, and spirit. It originated in India several thousand years ago.
Yoga integrates mental, physical, and spiritual dimensions of human life through stretching, bending, and balancing involved in the asanas (physical postures that are part of a yoga practice).
Allison Kilcoyne, a long time JUDO student and teacher, came to the practice of yoga in 1995. She has been teaching yoga for several years. A nurse practitioner by profession, she integrates her knowledge of anatomy, physiology, health, wellness and illness into her classes.
Combining philosophies of astanga, vinyasa, iyengar and hatha styles of yoga, classes are a mixture of flowing postures, posture instruction, mindfulness and meditation.
All levels of practice are welcome.
